Why Advocacy Matters

WE FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHT TO CHOOSE HELP THAT ACTUALLY HELPS

The VA system was never designed for the real-life challenges veterans face today.

It’s outdated, overburdened, and leaves too many of us stuck in a maze of denials, delays, and dead ends. The so-called “free help” can’t keep up, and for many veterans, it’s not even accessible, especially if you’re younger, active-duty, or have a complex claim.

We believe veterans should have options.

That’s why VNCC doesn’t just guide veterans through their claims, we fight for their right to choose how they get help in the first place.

Our Partnership with NAVR

We’re proud partners of the National Association for Veteran Rights (NAVR), a nonprofit fighting to protect the rights of veterans and the ethical companies that support them.

Together, we push for smart, veteran-centered legislation at both the state and federal level. Our mission is simple: modernize the system, protect veteran autonomy, and raise the standard of support.

What We Stand For

Veterans deserve real help, not red tape.

We support reforms that increase access, elevate quality, and safeguard veteran choice:

  • Smart regulation that protects veterans from shady actors without punishing the good ones.

  • Accountability for every company or nonprofit claiming to help veterans.

  • Real options because “free” isn’t always available, effective, or enough.

Fighting for Fair, Veteran-First Legislation

Some lawmakers still push the idea that veterans can only get help from “approved” sources, even when those sources are overloaded, unavailable, or ineffective.

We believe in choice with accountability. That means protecting veterans from scammers and from being boxed into broken systems. Veterans earned the right to decide how they get help, and we’ll keep fighting to defend that right.

✅ The CHOICE for Veterans Act (H.R. 3132)

This bill is a game-changer. It:

  • Protects veterans’ right to choose private help

  • Allows reasonable, success-based fees

  • Punishes predatory behavior with real penalties

✅ The SAVE Act (State-Level Reform)

The Safeguarding American Veteran Empowerment (SAVE) Act is already law in six states and moving in eight more. It:

  • Blocks bad actors (no more upfront fees, false guarantees, or offshore call centers)

  • Requires clear disclosure of free options

  • Protects veterans’ right to choose ethical, vetted help

This law gives states a model that works, one we support at every turn.

❌The GUARD Act

The GUARD Act claims to “protect” veterans, but in reality, it strips away their choices.

It criminalizes private help on initial claims and favors a system where only attorneys or VSOs can assist, even when they’re overwhelmed or inaccessible.

GUARD-style bills have already been rejected or stalled in states like California, Texas, and Virginia. And for good reason: they don’t work for veterans, they work for gatekeepers.

The Fight Continues

We’re not here to pick sides.

But when it comes to your right to choose who helps you with your VA claim, we will show up.

Whether it’s testifying at a hearing, weighing in on legislation, or correcting misinformation that harms veterans, we speak up when it counts. Because every day, we see what happens when veterans are denied real options, and we refuse to stay quiet.

Our team tracks legislation, calls out misinformation, and makes sure veterans get the full truth, not filtered talking points from systems stuck in the past.

This isn’t about partisanship. It’s about protection.

Veterans deserve better. And we’re not backing down.
